“World News Tonight With David Muir” was ranked in all of the No. 1 Evening Newscasts on broadcasts and cable for the week of February 24, 2025, based on live + same day data from Nielsen Media Researchs.
“World News Tonight” increased its 25-54 adults in NBC Nightly News (6.371 million, 940,000, 633,000, 633,000, total viewer, 134,000 adults with 25-54 adults, 18-49 respectively.” “World News Tonight” expanded its 25-54 adults compared to “NBC Nightly News” last week compared to 4% (134,000 vs 129,000). “World News Tonight” increased its viewer margin for NBC Nightly News over the year (+23% – 1.546 million vs 1.261 million). For five consecutive weeks, “World News Tonight” grew in the same week of the previous year with total viewers (+1%/+87,000-7.917 million vs 7.830 million). “World News Tonight” stood as the only night newscast to increase its audience audience each year. “World News Tonight” was the second programme of the week for all broadcast and cable total viewers (7.917 million). This week, “World News Tonight (7.917 million, 1.074 million, 754,000, 754,000, respectively) was defeated by “CBS Evening News” (4.279 million, 643,000, 424,000, 424,000, total viewers, 431,000 adults 25-54, and 18-49 respectively. Previous seasons, “World News Tonight” (7.951 million) ranked number one in total viewers for the ninth consecutive year, based on most data today. “World News Tonight” was defeated by “NBC Nightly” News (6.364 million) leads to 1.587 million and CBS Evening News (4.639 million) with 3,312 million. In fact, “World News Tonight” has increased the total NBC viewer lead since the 1994-1995 season compared to the same points (+35% to 1.587 million vs. 178 million) as last season (+35% to 1.587 million vs. 178 million). “World News Tonight” ranks number one in adults, 25-54 and 18-49 in the sixth season. ABC Newscast is the only night newscast to improve at the same points last season with adults 25-54 (+1% – 1.136 million vs 1.13 billion) and adults 18-49 (+1% – 785,000 vs 777,000); Additionally, “World News Tonight” (1.36 million and 785,000 respectively) leads NBC (947,000 and 634,000 respectively), increasing margins from the same points in the triple digits of adults 25-54 (+142% to 189,000 vs 78,000) and adults 18-49 (+132% – 151,000 vs 65,000) last season. Additionally, World News Tonight leads CBS Evening News (676,000 and 451,000 respectively), with 460,000 adults 25-54 adults and 18-49 adults 334,000 adults.
