With the 2024 Solheim Cup competition wrapping up in Virginia, attention is now shifting to the site of the 2026 competition, Bernardusgolf in the Netherlands, which is scheduled to host the tournament’s 20th running from September 7-13.
Located one hour from Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam Centraal Station, Bernardus Golf’s championship golf course was designed by Kyle Phillips and is a proven tournament course that has hosted the DP World Tour’s KLM Dutch Open three times between 2021 and 2023.
As one of the premier events in women’s sport, spectators can expect an exceptional experience that seamlessly blends sports, entertainment and hospitality at the highest level.
Bernardus Owner Robert van der Wallen commented: “With the dates set, we are moving full speed ahead with preparations to welcome this fantastic event to Bernardus for its 20th tournament in 2026. We had a lot of fun experiencing the first Solheim Cup in the United States this week at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club, and our team will use all the experience we gained there, as well as our visit to Finca Cortesin in 2023, to ensure this is our best European tournament yet.”
The 20th edition of the tournament will be the first to be organised in partnership with IMG, who have been appointed by the LET as delivery partner for the European Solheim Cup with an initial contract running from 2026 until the end of 2038.
IMG’s appointment follows the successful production of the Solheim Cup in 2019 in partnership with Scottish Tourist, which attracted more than 90,000 spectators to the match at Gleneagles and was broadcast to millions worldwide.
Working together, the NGF, Bernardus, the LET and IMG aim to host a world-class Solheim Cup in 2026, setting the benchmark for women’s sporting events and leaving a long-lasting positive legacy for Bernardus, Dutch golf, the Netherlands and the local community.
