Royal St George’s Golf Club has confirmed a ground-breaking long-term partnership with John Deere and Tuckwells aimed at taking the course and its greenkeepers to new heights.
The deal will see 70 new machines installed by dealer Tuckwells at the famous Kent venue, including John Deere complete cutting vehicles, tractors, utility vehicles and other essential grounds care equipment. That’s it.
Greenkeepers receive support from John Deere to complete extensive specialized training and are also provided with opportunities to travel to other world-renowned courses to enhance their expertise.
The latest technology is implemented throughout Royal St. George’s with satellite-connected machinery and John Deere Operations Center professional golf course management software to allocate and track progress on all daily tasks. .
Tuckwells will provide all equipment for the open venue and a complete package of operator training as well as quick parts back-up for any maintenance required during the initial five-year contract period.

As part of the deal, Tuckwells will provide additional machines and labor to support the tournament to be held at Royal St George’s.
The club’s greenkeepers will have the opportunity to travel to TPC Deere Run to help prepare the course for the John Deere Classic and see first-hand how TPC Sawgrass is being set up for The Players Championship Opportunities are also provided.

Deliveries of the new equipment are expected to begin in 2025 and be completed in spring 2026. This includes the latest technology from John Deere’s innovative lawn machines, including the recently released battery-powered 225E walk-behind mower and 2775E riding green mower.
The course also ordered two 2030A GPS sprayers, which use satellite guidance to precisely apply chemicals and fertilizers, reducing duplication and input costs.
