Work on the £20 million redevelopment of Liverpool’s Kirkby Valley Golf Club is set to begin early next year.
Councilors on Knowsley’s planning committee approved club owners Green Circle Leisure’s plans for the course. Green Circle originally submitted plans in 2021, but amended the plans in response to public consultation.
Designed by International Course Architects, International Design Group, and Brock Carmichael Architects, the project includes:

The 18-hole adventure golf course offers a fun, family-friendly and accessible version of the game alongside the traditional format. New clubhouse with restaurant, bar, pro shop and ground floor multi-purpose space A two-tier driving range with simulator technology and dedicated teaching bay.

Michael Hanlon, Real Estate Director at Green Circle, said: “Golf is at the core of our business and our ‘Total Golf’ model aims to break down barriers to participation and make the game attractive, accessible and affordable to as many people as possible. .”
“Kirkby Valley is a unique asset that offers all forms of gaming in one place. This is a ground-breaking development and will be completely unique in the region.”
Green Circle will continue to develop and develop golf, as the new facility will offer more opportunities for participation, coaching and ‘Get Into Golf’ activities with local schools, offering golf sessions to promote better health and wellness. We will expand our reach program.
Brock Carmichael architect John Cassel said: “The new clubhouse and driving range building will provide first-class social and leisure facilities.” It was important that the building design and materials fit into the broader masterplan and complement the natural landscape and visual features of the course. ”
Green Circle Leisure also operates golf courses at Allerton Manor in Liverpool and Shedley Park in St Helens.
