Golfnow and Tee Off, which make up Tee Times’ world’s largest online market, visited its website in March to encourage “Roundup” of Special Olympics, the largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities.
Those booking T-shirt times with Golfnow or Teeoff during the month will be offered the opportunity to summarise the total cost of a booking into even-dollar figures. For example, if the tea time costs a total of $37.55, golfers may choose to round the cost to $38.
The March initiative raised more than $100,000 for the Special Olympics, following Golfnow’s Roundup campaign last year. Cash contributions were supplemented by employee volunteering and other in-kind donations to the Special Olympics programs in Connecticut, Minnesota and Florida.
Special Olympics offers year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports, providing athletes with the continuous opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and experience the joy of participation.
In addition to the 24/7 online tee time marketplace, Golfnow and Teeoff are leading providers in the golf industry of golf course operation software and services, offering around 10,000 courses worldwide. In the two years since conception, the concept of the Roundup Campaign has raised over $4 million for various charities.
“We’re excited to announce that we’re a great opportunity to see the company’s efforts to ensure we’re in the process of doing business,” said Todd Triplett, senior vice president of Golfnow. “We are proud of the positive impacts made through the initiative better together for organizations like Special Olympics, and we are honored to bring about change for these extraordinary athletes.”
