Sotogrande has announced plans to develop a new academy at Almenara Golf, located at the five-star SO/Sotogrande Spa & Golf Resort in Spain.
This transformative project will transform the existing nine-hole Alcornoc course into a state-of-the-art golf academy, setting a new standard for golf training facilities in the region.
Almenara Golf Academy features comprehensive world-class facilities including natural grass tee lines, covered tee lines with VIP areas, industry-leading Toptracer driving range technology, a custom fitting centre, bar, café and evening practice facilities.
Additionally, the new Academy will feature a Pro Coaching Centre featuring a nine-hole par-3 course designed by Manuel Pinero, a Pro Practice Zone with dedicated tee lines and a short game area including a putting and chipping practice green.
“We are very pleased to start this exciting project, which will take Almenara Golf to the next level as Sotogrande’s premier resort for golfers of all levels,” said Stephane Menou, general manager of SO/Sotogrande and Almenara Golf. “The new academy will not only provide world-class coaching and practice facilities, but also a lifestyle concept that combines entertainment and golf, allowing the Sotogrande community and visitors to enjoy golf in a relaxed environment.”
Construction on the new Academy has already begun and will complement Almenara Golf’s existing 18-hole championship layout.
“We are excited to offer our guests a new level of service and amenities through the Almenara Golf Academy,” said Rita Jourdan, Sotogrande’s marketing director. “This development is part of our ongoing mission to deliver the highest quality and innovation.”
“By enhancing Almenara Golf’s golf and leisure offering, we further strengthen Sotogrande’s comprehensive offering, which includes La Reserva Club, Real Club Valderrama and Real Club Sotogrande, and also create new opportunities for families and individuals to enjoy or take up the game of golf.”
