Minnesota-based company 3M has announced a five-year extension to the title sponsorship of the PGA Tour’s 3M Open until 2030.
Operated in industrial, workers’ safety and consumer goods, including home brands such as ScotchGuard and Post-It Note, 3M has been a tournament partner since its inception in 2019.
The sponsorship extension, sponsored by the non-profit 3M Open Fund, will continue to take over the world’s top golfers to Brain’s TPC Twin City until 2030.
The 2025 3M Open will be held at TPC Twin City from July 21st to 27th. Here, Jonattan Vegas is set to defend his 2024 title. The event will air on ESPN+ on CBS/Paramount+, Golf Channel and PGA Tour Live, and will be distributed internationally via the tour’s world feed.
“We are excited to continue our partnership with 3M and our passionate Minnesota fan base supporting all sports, including 3M, which will open from day one,” said PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan. “The same passion from 3M is on display every summer. They invest in the community and have a positive impact on life through the 3M open.”
“The 3M Open is more than a golf tournament. It’s a force that brings together around 3m of innovation and people who support the Minnesota community,” said 3M CEO Bill Brown. “Our title sponsorship and partnership with the PGA Tour showcases the 3M science of our most valuable customers and partners, while improving our own backyard life. We look forward to continuing our 3M open in the future.”
Since 2019, the 3M Open has donated more than $8 million to charities, affecting the lives of more than 1 million people.
The TPC Twin City was designed by Arnold Palmer, who worked in consultation with Minnesota native and PGA Tour veteran Tom Lehman. 3M has supported the golf community for over 30 years, including holding the 3M Championship, a PGA Tour Championship event held at TPC Twin City from 1993 to 2018.
