These rankings comprehensively evaluate the nation’s roughly 1,500 four-year, bachelor’s degree-granting institutions and categorize them into different groups based on the institutions’ academic missions.

UGA ranks high in U.S. News’ Best Colleges rankings
The University of Georgia in Athens sits alongside other notable universities at number 46. One of the oldest public universities in the United States, the University of Georgia is highly regarded for its rich history and diverse academic programs.
Topping the U.S. News list of best American universities is Princeton University, followed by MIT, Harvard, Stanford and Yale.
