Georgian Court University made significant progress in U.S. News & World Report’s latest rankings, climbing 16 spots in the Best Universities in the North Region category. The university moved up from 111th place the previous year to 95th place for the 2024-2025 academic year. This is Georgian Court University’s highest ranking in more than a decade and reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and student success.
The University also improved its ranking in the area of top performers for social mobility, moving from 103rd to 90th. These achievements highlight Georgian Court University’s commitment to educational excellence and its focus on supporting students from diverse backgrounds, particularly those who are the first in their family to pursue higher education.
“We have always been committed to ensuring that all students, regardless of their background, have access to a quality education,” said Dr. Joseph R. Marbach, president of Georgian Court University. “Our rise in the rankings reflects not only our academic excellence, but also the strength of programs aimed at supporting first-generation students and students from disadvantaged communities. The GCU Promise program is one way we are making higher education more attainable for students who might otherwise find it out of reach.”
The US News Best Colleges rankings report is one of the most commonly used resources by students and parents when choosing a college. Rankings are determined by comparing a number of criteria deemed critical to college success, including academic quality including graduation rates, student-faculty ratios and social mobility.
“This year’s results confirm the College’s role as an institution that excels in providing students with the tools they need to succeed academically, overcome challenges, pursue their passions and transform their lives through education. Georgian Court’s rise in the Social Mobility category is especially meaningful because the category recognizes schools that excel in graduating Pell Grant recipients, who traditionally face many obstacles to completing their education.”
“At Georgian Court, we pride ourselves on offering small, personalized class sizes and a wide range of programs to meet the needs of today’s diverse students,” Dr. Marbach continues, “Whether you’re a traditional undergraduate, working professional, or degree seeker, we have an environment designed to help you succeed academically and beyond.”
