KINGSFORD — The Kingsford girls varsity tennis team’s 2024 regular season ended as quickly as it began with an 8-0 victory over Norway on Monday at Kingsford High School.
The Frivers now turn their attention to the Division 1 UP final and a trip to Escanaba, while the Knights return to Kingsford for the Division 2 UP final. Both events will be held today.
“(It was) the last game (at Kingsford High School) for my senior year.” Kingsford head coach Tracy Rutter said. “It’s hard to believe that I’m already down to UP level. Time flies when you’re having fun.
“It’s been a really great year. With 34 girls, you might think we have a problem, but it really hasn’t. The days may be long, but the time really flies. It’s early.”
Aubrey Moore has dominated the No. 1 singles spot for most of her freshman season with the Flibers. Moore continued that trend on Monday, defeating Norway’s Jordyn Morn 6-0, 6-0.

Kingsford University’s Abby Przeslakowski defeated Ella Wojtowicz 6-2, 6-0 at second singles, and Aubrey Phillips defeated Tori Trudeau 6-1, 6-0 at third singles. won.
