Diving overview:
Luxury hospitality brand Four Seasons is teaming up with national real estate developer Extell Development Company to build a hotel and residences in the popular ski area of Park City, Utah. Four Seasons Resort and Private Residences Deer Valley will be part of Deer Valley East Village, the first luxury alpine village developed in North America in more than 40 years, according to Four Seasons. Hotel rooms and residences share luxurious amenities, and some homes offer ski-in/ski-out mountain access. With this resort, Four Seasons expands its mountain collection into a “well-regarded destination,” said Bert Carnahan, Four Seasons’ president of global business development, portfolio management and housing. The hospitality brand joins Grand Hyatt to establish a presence in Park City’s luxury lodging market.
Dive Insight:
Four Seasons Resort and Private Residences Deer Valley joins the luxury brand’s Mountain Collection across the Americas, which includes a property in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Vail, Colorado. and Whistler, Canada.
Carnahan said in a statement that Four Seasons aims to offer travelers an “unparalleled luxury retreat” by combining hospitality and residential services in Park City’s “renowned mountain setting.”
In addition to 134 guest rooms and suites, Deer Valley Resort will offer 123 one- to six-bedroom private residences ranging in size from 1,200 square feet to 7,000 square feet. Approximately 55 residences are located above the resort with ski-in/ski-out access to the mountain.
Four Seasons says the resort, led by New York-based ODA Architecture, will feature floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies with views of the destination’s “breathtaking topography” and “alpine luxury.” It is said to be designed to reflect the best of hospitality. Fireplaces will also be installed in guest rooms and homes.
Guests and residents have access to wellness and fitness facilities, including a sauna, steam room, whirlpool, and spa services. The resort also has four dining options, including a ski-in lounge with outdoor terrace and fireplace.
The resort offers year-round activities with close proximity to more than 80 miles of hiking and biking trails, ice rinks, indoor sports courts, and indoor and outdoor pools.
Four Seasons announced the project just weeks after Hyatt opened the 436-key luxury Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Resort, based in Deer Valley East Village.
Last month, Four Seasons reopened Four Seasons Hotel New York.
