(WQOW) – The Green Bay Packers kicked off the new year and the final week of the regular season by announcing the fans who will be finalists for the Packers Fan Hall of Fame.
The finalists include some names you might remember if you’ve followed WQOW for decades. Former WQOW sports reporter Bill Port was a finalist. Bill worked at WQOW from 2007 to 2011.
Last February, he wrote a letter to Green Bay Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy that caught the attention of Packer fans around the world. In his letter, he stated that he would like to apply for the vacant defensive coordinator job despite his lack of experience.

Murphy sent Bill a letter politely denying his application and telling him to contact the Chicago Bears.
A letter of recommendation written by his brother says Bill is “on another level” and that he lives and breathes green and gold.
The public can vote on who should be inducted into the Packers Fan Hall of Fame. Voting is open until January 31st. Click here to vote.
