Deming, Wash. — A “glamping” site near Baker Mountain is for sale and could be yours for a low price of $725,000.
The 2.16 acres of commercial land features a concrete dome of approximately 700 square feet, just minutes from Baker Mountain in Deming.
According to the Bellingham Herald, Oculis Lodge was an Indie Gogo crowdfunding project branded as “the ultimate luxury accommodation in the Cascade Mountains.” However, the project quickly elicited sharp criticism from locals skeptical of its feasibility. Meanwhile, the supporter’s fundraising expressed dissatisfaction as the developer’s promises were met and the project was repeatedly delayed, the Bellingham Herald reported.
The project was supposed to have around 30 private domes in early 2024, but as of March 2025, only one was completed.
The owners sold it because they couldn’t keep up with the scale and cost of the project.
The Redfin list states:
“2.16 AC of commercially zoned land suitable for outdoor hospitality. Instead, the existing 700 SF concrete dome will serve as a private escape during the development of the property or provide immediate rental revenue. Light features an ideal retreat for sale for decks, saunas and expansions.
