Oceania Cruises will base the Insignia in the Port of Tampa Bay starting in spring 2026, marking the first time the ultra-luxury cruise ship will depart from the port.
The cruise ship will depart Tampa for seven- to 20-night cruises visiting the Caribbean and the Panama Canal.
“Oceania Cruises is pleased to announce that we have partnered with Oceania Cruises to bring our newest cruise line to the world,” said Frank A. Del Rio, president of Oceania Cruises.
“The Port of Tampa Bay represents an exciting new chapter for Oceania Cruises as it becomes the first ultra-luxury cruise line to operate exclusive voyages from Tampa, opening its doors as a convenient gateway to Florida’s west coast and the Gulf of Mexico.
“This is a natural expansion for our brand, as Tampa reflects the cosmopolitan nature of our beloved hometown of Miami, with its diverse mix of international influences and cultures.”
“We are thrilled to partner with Port Tampa Bay to bring this exciting new addition to the Port of Tampa,” added Paul Anderson, president and CEO of Port Tampa Bay.
“We are excited to welcome Oceania Cruises to the Port of Tampa Bay. The arrival of Insignia marks an important milestone and enhances Tampa’s status as a premier cruise destination. Increased tourism brings great economic opportunities for the region, its workers and businesses, so we look forward to welcoming new guests to our beautiful city and gateway.”
The Insignia is a cruise ship with a capacity of 670 passengers and 400 crew members.
