New York prosecutors have charged Luigi Mangione, 26, with the murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, according to court records.
The charges follow Mangione’s arraignment Monday night in Blair County Court in Altoona, Pennsylvania, where he was read on firearms and forgery charges. Pennsylvania prosecutors argued he was a flight risk and bail was denied.

The 26-year-old man was spotted by someone at a McDonald’s in Altoona, called local police and was arrested. Police said Mangione wore a gun silencer, a mask similar to the one worn by the gunman, and a fake New Jersey check that the gunman used to check into a New York City hostel before the shooting. He reportedly had an ID and a handwritten document stating his motive.
