LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – A mother and son who pleaded guilty to selling counterfeit luxury goods at a downtown Laredo store will wait a little longer to hear their punishment.
Sentencing for Bok-nyeo Kim and Henry Kim was scheduled for this morning, Friday, December 13th, in federal court.
However, the hearing was postponed because the Korean interpreter was not feeling well.
Bok-nyeo Kim and Henry Kim were discovered by undercover detectives to be selling counterfeit designer goods imitating luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Chanel at a store in the 1000 block of Hidalgo Street.
Investigators seized a total of 346 counterfeit items, which were sold for approximately $600,000.
According to the manufacturer’s suggested retail price, it’s even cheaper.
Court documents say the operation was well-organized and the counterfeit products were sourced from California.
No new sentencing hearing date has been announced at this time.
