A former Bronx inmate was indicted on murder charges Friday in the brutal August slaying of another man whose dismembered body parts were hidden inside a casserole dish in a Bronx apartment and inside a burning shopping cart in Yonkers, police and sources said.
Authorities and police sources said Muhammad Aadil, 40, was involved in the murder of Lutalo Henderson, 46, whose severed hand was found protruding from a pan filled with bleach on the kitchen floor of a home on Rogers Place near East 163rd Street in Longwood on Aug. 5.
Sources said more bodies were believed to have been contained in black bags found in the freezer at the time.

Police said they also found a gun and drug paraphernalia in the bedroom.
Local authorities said the search began early that morning when firefighters found a burning cart and a body on the sidewalk near the Oak Street Bridge in Yonkers, near the Mount Vernon border.
Investigators believe the couple took the body on a Metro-North Railroad train from the Bronx and got off at the Mount Vernon West station in Westchester County, officials said.

The New York Police Department could not confirm Friday afternoon whether another suspect was still being sought in connection with the horrific crime.
Police were unable to confirm any relationship between Mr Ardill and Mr Henderson, despite them living at the same address.
Last month, neighbors described the victim as a longtime resident who “had a roommate.”

In addition to second-degree murder, Ardill was also charged with first-degree manslaughter, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, concealing a body and unlawful possession of a firearm, authorities said.
Police say he has been arrested a total of 11 times, most recently in 2020 for illegal possession of a firearm.
According to online records, Adil has served three state prison sentences on drug charges since 2004, with his most recent sentences coming between 2015 and 2019.
His parole in that case expired in February 2023.
