Brighton gave ownership to Visiting Blues, similar to his 2-1 defeat at Amex Stadium on Saturday. It was treated again as the Seagulls’ vicious counter attack was even better at carving out visitors.
A 3-0 victory prevented Chelsea from strengthening their top-four position, and now the Blues can finish the weekend sixth at the table.
Enzo Maresca’s reaction – What did the Chelsea boss say after his humble loss in Brighton?
“In this outcome, frustration is all about everything. Certainly, we are the fans, people, and really sorry. In that moment we are in that position of 14 games, we went tonight. You need to do much more than that.”
No target shots: “We did that in terms of controlling the game and keeping the ball, but I said before the game when you didn’t have an actual nine. To find different solutions. We arrived well at the edge of the box and struggled in the last third from there. But it wasn’t just a chance, it was to make tonight a turning point. I hope.”
