Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen is understandably not a big fan of the idea. “Greenland belongs to Greenlanders,” she said Tuesday when President Trump’s son Donald Jr. visited the island.
Musk also weighed in on X, writing, “If the people of Greenland want to be part of America, which I hope they do too, they’re welcome!”
Netherlands
Mr. Musk’s penchant for hanging out with far-right groups was again on display in his chinwag with Geert Wilders, a Dutch politician who has long campaigned on an anti-Muslim and anti-immigration platform.
Owner X emphasized the country’s low birth rate and claimed that “the Dutch nation will perish by its own hands.” Mr. Musk has 12 children, so there are plenty of useful tips for the humble Dutchman.
Venezuela
Venezuela’s provocateur leftist President Nicolas Maduro banned Mr. X for 10 days last August after clashing with Mr. Musk. X’s owner branded Maduro a “dictator” and “clown” and accused him of “serious electoral fraud.” To be fair, that last part is also an assessment of the current US administration.
Finland
In the pre-X era, Musk mocked then-Finland Prime Minister Sanna Marin for visiting a nightclub in late 2021 after coming into contact with a coronavirus patient. His meme included a photo of two young people in a nightclub and the caption: I am the Prime Minister of Finland. “Sounds cool,” Marin then posted, prompting the then-prime minister to share his country’s climate change beliefs.
