British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has responded firmly to Elon Musk’s fierce attacks on the British government.
At a press conference in the past 30 minutes, Mr Starmer said Chief Inspector X and others’ recent obsession with stories of child grooming gangs over the past decade had led to “threats of violence and intimidation in the hope that the media would amplify it.” It is nothing more than “repeating.”
Mr Musk has been spreading conspiracies on his social media platforms over the weekend, including labeling one of Mr Starmer’s cabinet ministers, Jess Phillips, a “rape-genocide apologist”. In a series of subsequent posts on “We should,” he posted a yes-no poll. He freed the British people from an oppressive government. ”
Mr Starmer has said he is “ready to denounce this fact as fact” and is under pressure to respond. “Those who spread lies and misinformation as widely as possible are not interested in the victims, they are interested in themselves.”
Although he did not mention Musk by name, he added: “Jess (Phillips) doesn’t need me or anyone else to speak for her, but when far-right venom posed a serious threat to Jess Phillips and others, there was a red line in my book. I have exceeded it.”
Mr Starmer said he “enjoys the cutting and thrusting of politics”, but said it was “based on facts and truth, not lies, and people who are desperate for attention and are willing to disparage themselves and their country”. It has to be,” he said.
Musk’s intervention comes as Donald Trump, with whom Musk has grown incredibly close in recent months, is set to return to the White House in just two weeks. Musk will lead the new Department of Government Efficiency.
Musk’s entry into Britain’s old dispute over gang grooming also puts him at odds with another Trump ally, British reform leader Nigel Farage. .
Mr. Musk and Mr. Farage initially had a close relationship, with Mr. Musk expected to donate millions of dollars to Mr. Farage’s party, but Mr. Musk has supported British far-right activist Tommy Robinson. This has caused a rift between him and Tommy Robinson, who is currently serving a sentence for contempt of court.
Musk called for a new leader for Reform Britain, saying “Mr Farage doesn’t have the talent we need.” Farage replied: Elon is a great guy, but I unfortunately disagree on this one. ”
