High-tech Baron’s Elon Musk called for the US to withdraw from NATO and the United Nations after months of upsetting two international organizations.
“I agree,” Musk, 53, responded to X’s suggestion late Saturday by Magazine influencer Gunther Eagleman, “It’s time to leave the NATO and the United Nations.”
Musk did not elaborate on the details of why the US wants to withdraw from NATO and the United Nations, but the proposal came after several social media users retracted both by pointing out the appeal of Senator Mikeley (R-UTAH).
Last month, Lee, 53, who frequently reposted and interacted from Musk of X, introduced a law to withdraw from the United Nations along with other lawmakers, denounced it as a “platform for attacking tyrants and the US and her allies.”
On Saturday, Lee announced that he would stop supporting the US Navy refueling in protest of President Trump’s conflict with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday, pointing out the announcement of Norwegian fuel supplier Haltbakk Bunkers.
“Europe doesn’t love us,” Lee ched on Saturday. “Let’s leave NATO.”
NATO ally Norway has publicly announced that despite the announcement of Haltbakk Bunkers it will continue to help refuel US ships and call for a boycott to support US ships.
The United States will help form NATO in the aftermath of World War II as a breakwater against the Soviet Union, with the heart of which is that an attack on one member constitutes an attack on all members – currently has 32 members.
The United Nations was also established after World War II as a successor to the League of Nations to promote dialogue between nations.
Trump, 78, and other conservatives are publicly worried that NATO allies aren’t pulling their weight well and that the UN elements are overly harsh for the United States.
Musk is known to have Trump’s ears and works as an “special employee” in the White House as an informal boss of the government’s Department of Efficiency (DOGE).
Musk did not dig into his rationale on Saturday, but in the past Musk claimed that the US had an unbalanced amount of NATO’s power, questioning why NATO continued to exist after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Musk previously claims that the US is spending a lot of money on the United Nations. Last fiscal year, Parliament approved $1.54 billion for the UN core budget. The United States also funds other UN entities.
Trump has publicly called for NATO allies to spend a great deal more on defense and accusing European countries of using American military umbrellas.
Last month he cut off UN Relief and Labor Funds for Palestinian Refugees and withdrew from the UN Human Rights Council.
