Best: I started playing when I was about 7 years old. I think he’s probably around 6 years old. My parents made me do it because I was trying every other sport and I wouldn’t shut up and talk. And they wanted a way to make me lose energy. Really fast so they made me swim and it worked. I slept well at night and didn’t bother them. So they loved it and I fell in love with the sport as well.
What is your proudest accomplishment as a swimmer?
Best: Personally, I think it was a big change overall, moving here from Illinois my sophomore year and being on a new swim team. So I’m very proud of the way I do things. I adjusted it. As a team, I am proud that every season, even though we lose some of our older swimmers, we still come together as a team, work hard, and still have the same environment where we motivate and motivate each other. As a senior, what advice would you give to a freshman on how to be a successful high school swimmer?
Best: I would like to say, do your best. Always do your best and listen to your coach. Because they really know what they’re talking about. They are great so believe what they say and just keep trying. Swimming isn’t perfect every day, but you can always do your best.
