PHILADELPHIA — Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said quarterback Jalen Hurts was limited in practice earlier this week due to “ankle treatment,” which was listed on the injury report. The content was different.
Hurts was placed on the list with a “rest” designation on Wednesday. He did not participate in individual practices during the portion of practice that was open to the media, instead serving as a spectator as Kenny Pickett and Tanner McKee practiced.
According to league sources, Hurts has been suffering from a minor ankle issue for several weeks.

Another league official described it as “lower leg soreness,” and Wednesday’s limited practice was a load management exercise as the Eagles play two games in five days against the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders. He explained that it was his purpose. The official added that Hurts refrained from pitching or planting during individual practice, but threw the ball during a team walkthrough late Wednesday.
Hurts was listed as a full participant Thursday and is expected to receive the same designation Friday, and all signs point to him potentially playing in Dallas on Sunday.
Asked Wednesday about his limited participation, Hertz said it was for rest, and when asked how he planned to arrange his rest days, he said, “I’m just going to do what I’m told.” he added.
