Washington (TNND) – Elon Musk, head of the Government Efficiency Agency (DOGE), issued an alarm Monday over a $59 million payment by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to house immigrants in New York City.
A mask, shared through his presidential advisory board, discovered that payments were made to a luxury hotel that houses illegal immigrants. He demanded the costs that were made last week and turned it around.
“Sending this money violates the law and is a terrible disobedience to the president’s executive order,” Musk wrote. “That money is intended for American disaster relief and instead is spent on high-end hotels for illegals! Today’s demand for clawback is being made to get back these funds.”
FEMA manager Cameron Hamilton responded by noting that the person in charge is responsible.
“I want to thank the @Doge team for making this aware,” Hamilton wrote in X. The person in charge is responsible. ”
“@uscongress should have never asked FEMA to do this job in 2023 and 2024,” he added. “This is going to stop now.”

The finding is as Doge continues to reveal controversial use of taxpayer dollars by government agencies. Senate President R-Iowa, Chairman Joni Ernst, recently poured more than $700,000 into the investigation by the National Institutes of Health to learn whether drinking is correlated with the city’s baby boom on Super Bowl Sunday. I reported that. The study found no such patterns.
“Washington has been groping for taxes for too long,” Senator Ernst wrote in X.
President Donald Trump said last week that Doge would soon investigate the Pentagon. The agency has failed financial audits in the past few years.
Sen. Chuck Schumer (DN.Y.) accused Doge of “not a real government agency,” adding that he “has no authority to make spending decisions.”
“The unelected shadow government is making hostile federal takeovers,” Sen. Schumer said of Doge last week via X.
Rep. Val Hoyle, D-ore. She also said last week that she would abandon her home’s Doge Caucus, suffering from frustration with Musk.
