LOS ANGELES — For the first time in 43 years, the Dodgers-Yankees World Series will be a prime-time event on the East Coast.
The start time for the Best of 7 series was announced on Monday. All seven games will begin at 5:08 PM PT/8:08 PM ET and there will be no day games.
The Dodgers have home field advantage and will host Games 1 and 2 on Friday and Saturday. Games 3, 4 and 5 (if necessary) will be played next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (October 28-30) at Yankee Stadium in New York.
If the series drags on, Games 6 and 7 are scheduled for Nov. 1 and 2 at Dodger Stadium, which would spill into November.
All games will be broadcast on FOX (Ch.11).
Yankees manager Aaron Boone announced Monday that right-hander Gerrit Cole (UCLA, Orange Lutheran High School) will start Game 1 against the Dodgers. The Dodgers have not announced their starting pitching plans. Since the NLCS was a six-game series with a final bullpen game in between, all three starting pitchers (Jack Flaherty, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Walker Buehler) will have at least five days off before Game 1.
