Learn how to make a DIY Starbucks-inspired Valentine’s Day box using an old oatmeal container. This is a super cute and easy Valentine’s Day craft for kids.
Any Starbucks fan will love this Valentine’s Day DIY project.
Transform an empty oatmeal container into a fun Frappuccino-inspired Starbucks-style Valentine’s Day box or container. This fun craft creates an adorable container that you can use for Valentine’s Day or keep all year round as a unique storage container.
A few years ago, my daughter and I worked together to make this DIY Starbucks Valentine Box for my daughter to host a Valentine in her classroom. Personally, I love that I can recycle trash using materials I already have at home, and it doesn’t cost a lot of money.
This box is perfect for holding treats and cards.
We think this Starbucks-inspired Valentine’s Box is a fun and frugal project to share your creative inspiration. If you fill it with school supplies, it would make a great gift to show your gratitude to your teacher. Here’s how to make a Starbucks Valentine’s Day box at home.
DIY Starbucks Valentine’s Box using oatmeal containers
1
Apply spray paint to the outside of the empty oatmeal container, including the lid. Allow to dry completely.
2
Squeeze the structural caulk into a piping bag with the tip and pipe it onto the lid to look like swirled frosting. Cut the straw in half and carefully insert it into the caulk. Add sprinkles on top and let dry completely.
3
Print the Starbucks logo on paper, cut it out with scissors, and tape or glue it to the center of the oatmeal container.
4
Finally, use a black Sharpie marker to mark the coffee cup on the side of the container, just like a real Starbucks cup. I saw the cup and got inspired to make a similar box.
Tips for making the best DIY Starbucks Valentine Box:
If you don’t have an empty oatmeal container, look around your house for similar tall tube-shaped buckets or containers instead. A wide cardboard shipping tube may work as well. The “matte” material for this project was actually all-purpose caulk I had in my garage. It’s pretty realistic. I’ve also seen similar projects that used a bit of insulating foam. If you’re making this with young children, be careful not to let them taste the “frosting.” 😳
The Starbucks fan in me was so excited about the handmade Valentine’s Day box!
I love how simple and easy this was! I know this because we waited until the last moment for it. lol 😆 I made this for my daughter’s last year of elementary school, so it was her last Valentine’s Day at school that I made this adorable Starbucks Valentine’s Day box. I’m glad we were able to make it special. ❤️
