If you’re looking for a creative way to give gift cards this year, try making these easy DIY gift card mason jar snow globes.
Everyone loves mason jar crafts, and these gift card snow globes make a very unique and festive presentation.
Turn an ordinary gift card into something special and thoughtful with this mason jar snow globe idea. It would make a great gift for friends, family, and teachers. Recipients can remove and use the gift card or display the jar as a Christmas decoration. In fact, you can even make and use some of these DIY snow globes yourself to add to your home holiday display.
Here are the first gift card mason jars I made and shared with you in 2014.
I’m excited to introduce this idea again because it’s so easy and fun to put together. The trick to making the gift card stand up is to attach it to a binder clip and use a little hot glue to stick it to the inside of the jar. Then fill it with cotton balls, artificial snowflakes, and your favorite small Christmas ornaments and miniatures.
I start by checking around the house and looking through boxes of Christmas decorations for supplies like ornaments, bottlebrush trees, and artificial snow. I can tell you that Target has a lot of cute little trees and ornaments that are affordable and fun this year.
The truck ornament I used is no longer available, but this similar looking Christmas tree truck ornament is a perfect match for Starbucks gift cards and 16 oz gift cards. wide mouth mason jar. Get a 12-pack of glass jars for just $15.49 at Target.com!
As for the larger medicine bottles, I bought both at Michaels. Although my Target bullseye ornament is no longer available, Target.com has lots of other fun and adorable ornaments. The mini deer figurine is also cute.

Tips for making a DIY gift card mason jar snow globe:
The best jars for these are wide-mouth jars that are large enough to hold a gift card. You can find them at stores like Target, craft stores, thrift stores, and even well-stocked grocery stores. Gift cards are approximately 3.5 inches in size, so make sure they are at least that wide. For a scene inside a jar, check out Dollar Tree for inexpensive winter or Christmas-related ornaments and miniature village pieces. Of course, Target’s Dollar Spot section is also a great option. I glued the gift card and light wood together with a little hot glue to keep it from tipping over. It’s up to you whether you glue each item or not. I think it’s better to leave the ornaments unattached so that the recipient can use them on the tree if desired.
I love this little Christmas gift card mason jar.
These will probably be my binder clips this year, and I’m so excited to make more. What a fun and creative way to jazz up your gift card presentation.
