Walmart’s first logo update in 17 years is getting a lot of attention online, but it may not be what the retail giant expected. The redesign, which the company describes as a modernization of tradition, includes bolder fonts, a richer blue background, and a “more energetic” yellow spark icon.
Commenting on the changes, William White, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Walmart US, said in a press statement: “This update is rooted in the legacy of our founder Sam Walton and demonstrates our evolving capabilities and long-standing commitment to serving our customers today and tomorrow.”
The internet, especially X (formerly Twitter), is full of memes and jokes about the new logo.
One user commented, “A consulting firm scammed us out of $500 million for this.”
