LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) – Construction is well underway on a mixed-use development in Lexington County’s Red Bank neighborhood, according to local real estate firm NAI Columbia.
Platt Springs Crossing will be a 57-acre development located between 5400 and 5470 Platt Springs Road. The development will be anchored by a 51,000-square-foot Lowes Foods grocery store, surrounded by 10,000 square feet of adjacent retail space and 8,400 bays for medical retail, according to the company.
The project, developed by Lexington Land Development Company, is estimated to cost $65 million. Developers said construction was 60 percent complete as of Aug. 19.
The development will feature a wide range of businesses, including Chipotle, Planet Fitness, Whataburger, Firestone, Panda Express, Heartland Dental, Well Street Urgent Care, Harbor Freight, Big Blue Marble Academy and local banks.
NAI Colombia said other users will be announced in the coming months.
In addition to area retail, the project will also include construction of 142 townhouses, with site work expected to begin in September, according to developers. The first townhouses are expected to open to the public in the third quarter of 2025.
NAI Columbia noted that vertical construction for Chipotle has already begun, with ground breaking for Panda Express, Whataburger, Harbor Freight, Big Blue Marble Academy and medical retail space scheduled within the next 60 days.
