Denza Z9 was officially launched at the 2024 Guangzhou Motor Show. The vehicle has a starting price of 334,800 yuan (46,200 USD) for the plug-in hybrid version and 354,800 yuan (49,000 USD) for the pure electric version.
Denza Z9 details
The Denza Z9’s overall design is consistent with the Denza Z9 GT, featuring a sleek headlight combined with a separate LED light strip. The front grille has black mesh air intakes with laser radars on either side. The plug-in hybrid version also features an active grill above the number plate.

The Z9 uses a sedan-style three-box design and, unlike the Z9 GT, has a larger rear triangular window and no black trim on the sides. At the rear, it features a body-coloured rear bumper with hourglass-shaped taillights, illuminated Denza logo and powered spoiler.
The plug-in hybrid version has an overall length of 5235/1990/1500mm and a wheelbase of 3125mm. The pure electric version is slightly shorter at 5220 mm.
The front cabin largely follows the Z9 GT’s design, with a 13.2-inch fully digital instrument cluster, 17.3-inch central touchscreen, 13.2-inch passenger entertainment screen, and 50-inch head-up display. The gear shifter has been upgraded to a column-style design, leaving space in the center console for a covered storage compartment, cup holders, and center armrest. Two 50-watt wireless phone charging pads remain standard.

The rear cabin has been significantly improved with 8-way electrically adjustable seats, 2-way manually adjustable headrests, electrically powered leg rests, and a seat cushion that can be tilted 65mm forward and 10 degrees upwards. The vehicle also has the same advanced features as the Z9 GT, including crab-walking mode (diagonal movement), compass-like U-turns, and advanced autonomous parking.
The Denza Z9 offers both a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and a pure electric version.
PHEV specifications: Equipped with a 2.0T engine and 3 motors (1 front, 2 rear) 2.0T engine: Maximum output 152kW Front motor: Maximum output 200kW 2 rear motors: Maximum output 240kW each Battery: 38.5 kWh LFP battery, CLTC Electric range 201 km Pure electric version: Front motor: Maximum power 230 kW 2 rear motors: Maximum power 240 kW each Battery: 100 kWh LFP battery, CLTC Electric range 201 km 630 km
Denza Z9 is expected to compete with other NEV luxury sedan models such as Avatr 12 and Nio ET7. However, most of its competitors only offer pure electric powertrains. As hybrid powertrains become increasingly popular in China, the Z9 is expected to fill a niche for hybrid luxury sedans in Denza and BYD’s extensive lineups.
