WASHINGTON (AP) — Democrat lawmakers are asking Elon Musk for an answer on whether departmental efficiency staff share more national security secrets than volatile communication channels.
Several other Democrats joined on Thursday, claiming that Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Virginia Sen. Jerry Connolly pose a threat to national security by revealing secrets about American defense and intellectual scientists.

Such information will provide significant benefits to the US enemy by providing important information on Washington’s defense priorities and resources allocated to various missions and objectives, lawmakers said.
Without going through the usual security procedures, staff hired by Mask accessed a variety of confidential government databases, including personal information about many Americans and their businesses, along with the employment and operational information used by the government.
It often includes categorized information, such as the exact number of employees working for various intelligence reporting agencies.
According to the letter, Doge staff in recent weeks have used fraudulent servers and unknown artificial intelligence programs to analyze and store data, sharing information across non-measurement channels, increasing the risk that foreign, criminal groups or internal threats can access or misuse the material.
Lawmakers also said that despite the guarantees, the DOGE website would not reveal any information from the intelligence reporting agency, but documents from the National Reconnaissance Bureau were easily found, the lawmakers said.
They expressed concern that Doge may be cutting spending without understanding the impact of national security until it is too late. They pointed to a recent incident in which the government tried to get people working on the nuclear weapons program to reclaim workers who had been fired.
“As Doge employees do not seem to fully understand much of the information they have been given free access and are given an incompetent way with the Cavaliers who processed this data, these individuals represent a clear threat to national security and the country’s economy,” the lawmaker wrote.
In their letter, Democrats requested information on how Doge staffing and security protocols and data have been used and potentially misused since Doge launched its business earlier this year.
Musk and Trump defend Doji’s work, saying that it has saved billions of dollars. Doge and The White House did not immediately respond to questions seeking comment on the lawmaker’s letter on Thursday.
