Davante Adams is heading towards the West Coast – and not for another Aaron Rodgers reunion.
After getting him from the Raiders and pairing him with Rodgers, the wide receiver, who spent the last 11 games of 2024 with the Jets with the Jets, made a two-year, $46 million deal.
Gang Green’s failed experiment with six-time Pro Bowler ended last week when he cut Adams off, but the 32-year-old gets another opportunity to play for the candidate when he took part in the Los Angeles offense featuring quarterback Matthew Stafford and Wideout Puka Naqua.
However, when the Jets acquired him in October, Adams was paired with budding star Garrett Wilson, and was to give Rogers another prolific offensive weapon.
At that point, the jet was 2-4. Robert Sale was fired. Nathaniel Hackett had been stripped of his duty to call for play.
But even the addition of Adams, and the 854 receiving yards and seven touchdowns he contributed, did not set the unit on fire.
When Adams began his career with the Packers, he and Rodgers helped Adams make the first five Pro Bowls of his career, and helped him finish for at least 997 yards in five seasons of five of his final six seasons at Green Bay.
Later, when he went to Las Vegas, Adams teamed up with Derek Carr’s previous college quarterback from Fresno State, but his tenure soon spiraled into rocky things when Carr was released.
That’s when Dot began to connect for the reunion of Rogers Adams. This happened when the Jets sent a three-round pick to the Raiders in 2025.
And because both Adams and Rodgers were released by the new Jets administration of general manager Darren Moogie and head coach Aaron Glenn, the pair theoretically remained together, both joining the same new team.
Reports say Rogers has attracted a lot of interest among teams, at least among the Giants, the Vikings and the Seahawks, and despite the rough 2024, he should be able to get his first chance.
However, there’s Stafford in Los Angeles, and there’s no chance that they’ll need a new signal character that will evaporate when the Rams choose to maintain their new contract.
The Rams currently have options for Stafford’s options with Naqua, Adams and Coupperp, but last month, Kupp revealed that Los Angeles is about to trade him.
So, the Rams who made it to the divisional round of the playoffs have all the pieces to run another postseason after the addition of Adams before being eliminated. Jett was in the middle of the reset after Rogers bets, backfiring all of the individual tiers that included bets, including Adams. So Rogers and Adams could be separated again.
