The CW Network has named Michael Perant Senior VP Sports.
Perant, a former NBC Sports executive who recently served as Senior VP and Global Media Rights at Media Agency’s Total Sports, will oversee programming and media rights for CW Sports, already home to the WWE NXT and the NASCAR Xfinity series.
Now owned by Nexstar, CW continues to revamp its programming lineup by creating pivots for sports including college football and basketball. Perment reports to Brad Schwartz, president of CW Network, and is based in New York City.
“We are excited to offer first-class sports programming across CW’s ubiquitously available broadcast and digital platforms, whilst promoting strong and lasting relationships in the sports world. Together, we continues to transform the network into fan best destinations, offering dynamic live sporting events and engaging programming,” Perant said in a statement.
Within the NBC Sports Group, Perment was Vice President of Programming for NBC and NBCSN and was director of scheduling for Comcast-owned Cable Sports Channels prior to the merger of Comcast and NBC Universal.
“As our sports programming schedule continues to grow at a fierce pace, we are the perfect professional like Mike to our experienced industry executives, producers and talent teams leading the fees to transform CW into a must-see. Schwartz said in his own statement.
CW Sports also offers sports programming within the ACC, PAC12, Grand Slam Track and NFL.
