Dr. Jay Varma, the architect of New York City’s strict coronavirus response under Mayor Bill de Blasio, quietly broke all the rules he said were necessary to save lives.
He supported lockdowns that have destroyed businesses and livelihoods, and ill-advised vaccination mandates that have cost workers their jobs.
And all the while, he continued to enjoy underground raves and drug-fueled parties.

This week, a video exposé revealed Varma in a major way, showing him as a vain, servile sybarite who goes on television to preach about the need for everyone to stay at home forever, while boasting about living like Caligula in private.
“During my time on TV, I did all kinds of deviant things, sexual things and things like that. People would ask me, ‘Aren’t you scared? Aren’t you ashamed?’ and I would say, ‘No, actually, I love being myself,'” Varma bragged to the undercover journalist.
He’s already made the usual progressive hypocrite ploy: he didn’t use his “best judgment” and just needed to “blow off some steam.”
What about the rest of us, Jay?
He maintains his COVID policies are based on science and is sticking to them.
No, it was based on politics.
And, naturally, he whines that the videos are part of a sinister plot by “extremists” to “slander public health officials and undermine America’s public health system.”
No, Jay. You destroyed trust in the “experts” by imposing rigid, arbitrary rules that you couldn’t even follow yourself.
As the data has proven time and time again, New York’s COVID response accomplished nothing except permanently destroying many people’s lives.
And Varma played a central role in making that happen.
It is immoral that he should not be in prison like other corrupt public officials, and it is outrageous that he should be able to retain his medical license.
But Dr. Varma has done America a great favour.
He has once again shown that our progressive public health “experts” are not to be trusted and are duplicitous narcissists who deserve eternal condemnation.
