The Cotton Bowl released a statement Tuesday night confirming that it is monitoring the pending weather in the Dallas area. Kickoff between Texas and Ohio State is set for Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The Cotton Bowl noted that while staff is preparing for “contingencies,” the outlook is improving. As a result, the game will be played as scheduled and the team is scheduled to arrive in Dallas on Wednesday.
“According to the National Weather Service, we continue to monitor weather information and the forecast for the second half of this week has improved over the past 24 hours,” the statement said. “We meet regularly with city officials and North Texas and College Football Playoff transportation directors.
“Even if the forecast changes, we are prepared for every contingency. Highways in North Texas are already salted out and we will ensure a safe environment for everyone in and around AT&T Stadium on game day. Plans are in place to secure the team’s arrival tomorrow and the 2025 CFP semifinals of the 89th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic to begin as scheduled Friday night.
According to AccuWeather, Friday’s forecast calls for a high of 38 degrees in Arlington. Three to six inches of snow is expected, with slippery roads expected.
The weather forecast said that it might snow in the morning. “It will be very cold with low clouds, and winds will pick up in the afternoon. Storm totals will be 3 to 6 inches. Expect slippery conditions early on, then some improvement later.”
Yahoo! Sports’ Ross Dellenger also reported that there was “little to no serious discussion” about moving the game from Friday’s kickoff time. Fan events and events related to College Game Day were also held as scheduled as of Tuesday night.
