Trump’s efforts to refrain from federal funding cause constitutional confrontation.
By Lawrence Harley
The Trump administration’s attempt to refrain from funding the federal government is to promote the battle of a long fuel brewing method over the core constitutional principle of deciding how to spend the taxpayers.
Similar to President Donald Trump’s early presidential ordinance on the growth of the rights, this battle could lead to an immediate lawsuit, which could quickly end in the Supreme Court.
A lawsuit filed by non -profit organizations has already put Trump’s plan on hold.
The Trump Administration had a memo on a Monday night, ordering an immediate block of federal aid and programs.
The government said that despite the fact that such funds were approved by Congress and signed the law, they would evaluate the program to match Trump’s agenda. In a new memo OMB issued on Tuesday, the government stated that the order did not make a freezing of funding, not the target of the water storage management law.
The Constitution specifically states that Congress has a job that imposes taxes, spend money, and gives the “wallet power”. This is a major authorities in the confrontation over the separation of power with the president.
“It is clear that the Trump administration will hurt to deliver the issue to the Supreme Court,” said the Biden administration’s OMB General Counsel Sam Bagenstus. “The Trump administration clearly believes that they have an advantageous court.”

Confusion and Confusion: The movement of the Trump administration suddenly suspends the federal subsidy and loan is a non -profit organization that depends on the government, parliamentary, state program, and its funding. , Garrett Heike, a wide range of confusion depends on the report of Berkley Love Loulas Jr.
Will it be affected? It is not clear which program stops when the freeze is enforced. However, OMB has more than 2,600 programs, including school lunches for low -income earners, international development foreign support organizations, mining inspection agencies, WIC nutrition programs for women and infants, and homeless re -integrated programs. I sent a document to ask the institution. A veteran. The White House tries to clarify: Funding the program that provides direct support to people is excluded from the pause and exempted from the review process, said senior managers. According to the memo OMB sent on Tuesday afternoon, it includes Medicade, Food Stamps, Small Business Support, Head Start, Rental Support, and Federal Pergrant for college students. Includes Medicade systems used to manage and distribute previously approved federal funds. Curoline Levit said that the White House was knowing the suspension of Medicade’s website and trying to fix it. (Click here for more information about Leavittt’s first White House Briefing.)
How Americans’ views on immigrants have changed since Trump’s first term
By Steve Cornacky
As he did eight years ago, Donald Trump came to the presidential position with a vow to take a severe boundary on immigration issues. But this time, he is doing it in a political atmosphere that promotes his posture.
Americans are now likely to quote immigrants as the biggest problem in the country facing the country, and are deeply supporting their efforts to expell their immigrants. These attitudes have some nuances (for example, the opposition to policies to separate families remain strong), but the overall change is undoubtedly.
For decades, Gallup’s polls have monitored the emotions of immigrants. During the campaign, the latest survey held last summer revealed that the proportion of Americans who want to reduce immigration has almost doubled since Trump’s first term.
Immediately after the 2001 attack, 55 % of Americans, who stated that the immigration level should be reduced, is the best value measured by gallap voting in 24 years.
And the majority of Americans continue to believe that immigrants are positive before pure, but their views have also weakened in recent years.
Furthermore, the country has almost completely completely divided into whether or not the people who are here will be expelled, whether they committed a crime.
This is a 20 -point pure shift since 2019, when the first Trump administration’s detention policy caused the national controversy. The tendency also leads to other questions. The general public has illegally supported the path to citizens for people here, but the opposition has doubled from 15 % to 30 % since Trump first took office. And the greatly expanded boundary wall support has reached a majority status, a 12 % point jump since Trump’s first term.
A poll of Ipsos/Reuters, announced when Trump took office last week, found that 47 % of Americans have approved immigration approaches. It’s not an overwhelming support, but it’s better than he tends to build a fare in the first gauch. And given the right trajectory of public opinion on the subject, it may be larger on the floor than the ceiling.

The exit of Gary Peters shakes the battle for the Senate
By Bridget Bowman
The decision not to run for the re -election of the Democratic Senator Gary Peters in Michigan means that the important battlefield states will host an open race key for the dominance of the Senate.
Here are three ways that Peter’s retirement can shake the battle for the Senate:
Michigan was already the top GOP target, one of the two states in the two states (along with Georgia) that the Senate Democratic Party won last year. Democratic candidates may move to the top of the target list because they do not have the advantage of incumbent. You need to win to turn the Senate over. The Democratic Party requires four seats in order to turn the room upside down, and only the GOP Senator (Susan Collins in the main state) in the state of Kamara Harris won last year has been re -elected. To avoid division, you can test the amount of party leaders who are united around one candidate. Former Secretary of Transport, Pete Botti Gig, is one of the potential candidates.
