According to Nikki Jhabvala, the Commanders are looking to trade tight end Cole Turner.
Ben Standig added that the team has let it be known that DT John Ridgway is available for a trade.
Washington overhauled its team this offseason with new general manager Adam Peters and head coach Dan Quinn, but that has left many of the players in the old system in a precarious position — the team has already traded wide receiver Jahan Dotson and more players are on the way.
Turner, 24, was selected by the Commanders in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of the University of Nevada. He is in the third year of a four-year, $3.998 million rookie contract that includes a signing bonus of $338,880.
In 2023, Turner appeared in 12 games for the Commanders, catching 11 of 15 passes for 120 yards.
The 25-year-old Ridgway transferred to the University of Arkansas after four years at Illinois State, where he was a two-time all-conference selection. The Cowboys acquired Ridgway with their fifth-round pick in the 2022 draft.
He signed a four-year contract worth $3,902,551, including a signing bonus of $242,551, but Dallas opted to waive him as a rookie and the Commanders acquired him.
In 2023, Ridgway played in all 17 games for the Commanders, recording 31 total tackles and one pass deflection.
