PHILIPPINES — Phillip Barber and Tucker County are advancing to the state playoffs with wins over the weekend.
Logan Beam rushed for 203 yards on 32 carries and scored a touchdown, and freshman quarterback Robbie Jones had two rushing scores in the fourth quarter as the sixth-seeded Colts (8-3) They came back to beat No. 11 Clay County 28-17. The Colts trailed 14-0 against the Panthers, but Jones hit Patrick Webster for a 28-yard score with 1:08 left in the first half, and Armi Shipley’s conversion kick cut the lead in half. .
Webster then picked off a pass near the end zone to keep Clay County off the board.
After the Panthers fumbled on their first possession of the first half, Phillip Barber tied the game despite Beam going for a 23-yard score.

For the Panthers, Noah Collins completed 20 of 42 for 264 yards. Joel Elliott had 10 receptions for 181 yards and one score, and Seth Robinson had a TD catch.
Malachi Poehling added an interception in the first half for the Colts.
Tucker 30, East Hardy 0
PARSONS — Second-seeded Tucker County defeated Potomac Valley Conference foe East Hardy 30-0 in a Class A first-round game Sunday afternoon at R.H. Armstrong Memorial Field. , Reid Kissamore scored two touchdowns, including a 55-yard punt return. at Class of 1984 Stadium.
