As the calendar flips to November, the 2024 college football regular season is finally in full swing. Although the prospects for a conference championship are solidifying, the College Football Playoff race remains open as the field expands with multiple at-large bids.
Week 10 will feature some of the most important matchups of the season so far, starting with a noon kickoff between No. 4 Ohio State and No. 3 Penn State. The Buckeyes are traditionally in the Big Ten, but they already have one loss in the conference and one more loss could completely knock them out of the Big Ten Championship Game.
No. 1 Oregon State, which suffered its first Big Ten loss to Ohio State, will continue with an important road game against defending national champion Michigan State on CBS at 3:30 p.m. ET. The Wolverines may not be the team they were a year ago, but this should be the Ducks’ toughest road test yet.
The same time slot will host the annual rivalry between Georgia and Florida. The No. 2 Bulldogs have dealt well with a midseason loss to Alabama and are favorites against their bitter rival. Facing perhaps their toughest schedule in years, the Gators are trying to decide their future with coach Billy Napier, but Saturday’s result, win or lose, will determine Napier’s place in the program. It can be of great help in doing so.
The night concludes with a key ACC showdown between No. 18 Pitt, who is undefeated in conference play, and No. 20 SMU. This matchup could potentially have big implications as the complicated ACC title race still unfolds.

always east
Noon | CBS, Paramount+ with Showtime, CBSSports.com, CBS Sports App — This game is about two programs going in two very different directions. A win would allow Army to secure style points toward its CFP bid, while Air Force hopes to end a horrific losing streak that dates back to August. Army is 6-0-1 ATS, while Air Force has yet to cover in all seven games. This is the perfect recipe for Daley’s big day on-site and a big win for the home team. Pick: Army -21.5 (odds via Fanatics) — Cameron Salerno
Noon | Fox, fubo (try for free) — The offense surrounding this game as Aller’s status is up in the air and Ohio State looks to figure some things out on the fly along the offensive line. There are many uncertainties. Even if Aller is able to participate, I don’t know if he will be 100%. This has all the makings of a defensive slugfest. Ohio State and Penn State both rank in the top three in the Big Ten in total defense and scoring defense. Both teams have allowed more than 20 points to a conference opponent just once this season, and unless the game is completely tilted to one side, the over will be called for. It’s a small betting line, but I don’t think you’ll get a ton of points. Pick: Under 46.5 (Odds via FanDuel) — Will Backus
3:30 p.m. | CBS, Paramount+ with Showtime, CBSSports.com, CBS Sports App — Oregon State rolls, Michigan State flounders. The Ducks can score big points, but the Wolverines can’t. There are many other reasons to choose Oregon over Michigan, but this is not an argument to dissuade you from making that choice. But it will be the Ducks’ toughest test remaining in the regular season, and they could be closer than expected, especially if Michigan’s defensive line can take advantage of Oregon’s recently improved but still troubled offensive line. be. I prefer Oregon to win outright, but I think Michigan could cover backdoor. Pick: Michigan State +14.5 (odds via DraftKings) — John Talty
3:30 PM | ABC, fubo (try it free) — All three of Florida State’s losses have come against teams currently ranked in the top 10 with a combined record of 21-2. The Gators have now given their stratospheric team a fourth crack, and there is growing evidence to suggest they can compete. The Gators have won three of their past four games, all against the Power Four, by an average margin of 18.7 points. The only loss during this period was an overtime loss to the University of Tennessee. Despite the poor start, the Gators have momentum and what could be a competitive game against an inconsistent team. If a sports betting app is willing to give you two or more touchdowns against the Gators, go for it. Pick: Florida +16 (odds via Caesars) — David Cobb
No.18 Pit at No.20 SMU
8:00 PM | ACC Network, fubo (try it free) — The Panthers have exceeded expectations all year with a 7-0 start. Given the way SMU had to utilize its depth late Saturday night in Durham, I think it could potentially be a bit of an advantage for a Pitt team that won in a landslide two days ago. This is the toughest opponent Pitt has faced all year, but it’s still a game where the Panthers can hang out and cover the touchdown-plus betting line. Pick: Pitt +7.5 (odds via BetMGM) — Chip Patterson
