CNN Business senior editor Paul Greider is leaving the news organization after a year to seek a new opportunity.
He oversees reporting for the company and previously worked at CNN Business for a year.
Greider was previously professor of journalism, media and entrepreneurship at King’s College in New York City, where he also serves as director of the school’s McCandlish Phillips Institute for Journalism Studies. He is also founder and co-director of the NYC Semester in Journalism (NYCJ) and co-advises the Empire State Tribune, a student-facing online news portal, magazine and video platform.
He served as Executive Director of The Media Project, a nonprofit news platform and training program for international journalists, and as Editor-in-Chief of the Project’s ReligionUnplugged.com site. Glader was the Laventol/Newsday Visiting Professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in spring 2018, where he chaired the final seminar for the Master’s in Business.
Glader has raised more than $3 million in grants for King’s journalism program and is also the founder and CEO of a startup called VettNews, one of eight collegiate teams joining the NYC Media Lab’s Combine accelerator in spring 2019.
Greider worked as a reporter for The Wall Street Journal for 10 years, covering a variety of topics including technology, health and science, travel, and metals and mining.
