Industry, California – Neighbors in the industrial city are tired of them and say a growing homeless camp in abandoned, luxurious RV parks is enough.
However, this removal was not an easy process as cleanup efforts began.
What we know:
Officials with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said they are fighting enforcement with private lots and strict laws protecting squatters, giving them more rights than they want to deal with them.
Following the report on Fox 11, people living in RV parks hit the highway, getting the words they were no longer welcome.
Once the moving day arrived, sheriff’s deputies patrol the parking lot through the fence.
The growing camp has been a problem for many years, with constant fire, robbery and lots of trash.
“The outside paints pictures of us being drug addicts, but that’s not the case,” Lena Dokticzk said.
She said it’s like a community campground and that some people pay $300 a month to play in a Black Series camper.

What they are saying:
“There’s no help. I’ll go back to the street,” former tenant Kimberly Graham said as the day on the move arrived in the dirt car park.
“It’s raining and I don’t want to be in the rain, so I’m mostly here,” she added.
“That’s scary. It’s scary for people who don’t have family,” another tenant added.
What’s next:
Once the cleanup effort began, outreach was expected to begin in the coming days.
Sheriff’s officials said they are expected to free up their property by next weekend.
