According to an agency spokesperson, the CIA fired some probation employees as part of the Trump administration’s broad efforts to reduce the federal government.
The agency has infiltrated employees who worked for the CIA, a group that includes all groups from analysts to young executives overseas and fired some of those people now.
“Our executives face unique pressure from working in fast-paced, high-stakes situations. It’s not for everyone,” the spokeswoman said in a statement confirming the shooting.
It is not clear how many officers have been let go. The New York Times first reported the shooting.
The CIA had already been trying to fire more than a dozen executives last month as it tackled diversity issues. These officers objected to the court’s firing, but were rejected last week by a federal judge who found CIA director John Ratcliffe free to fire the officer.
Foreign enemies, including Russia and China, have recently led the intelligence reporting agency to strengthen the recruitment of US federal employees working in national security, targeting people who have been fired or feel that way, CNN previously reported.
Intelligence News shows that foreign enemies want to exploit the Trump administration’s efforts to make massive layoffs across federal workers.
