In a dramatic turn of events that caught the attention of Chinese social media platforms, a wealthy Chinese woman enacted a revenge plot against the luxury store that initially ignored her.
In what has been described as “the most infuriating incident of the year”, a woman returned to a Louis Vuitton store with 600,000 yuan (about 368,490 ringgits) in cash, but left without buying anything after leaving staff counting it for two hours.

The woman, who used the pseudonym “xiaomayouren” on the social media platform Xiaohongshu, described her frustrating experience at the Starlight Place shopping centre in the southwestern city of Chongqing, according to the South China Morning Post.
The trouble began in June when she visited an LV store to buy clothes and was treated coldly by store staff.
Carrying her Hermes handbag, she asked for drinking water but was met with indifference and shown only older seasonal items rather than the new arrivals she was interested in. When she asked for help, she was greeted with looks of dismay and annoyance.
The woman felt disrespected and tried to escalate the issue by contacting the luxury brand’s headquarters, but her concerns were not addressed.
Two months later, she returned to the same store with a large bag stuffed with cash, accompanied by her personal assistant and a friend.
The woman tried on the clothes and told the salesperson she intended to purchase them.
She then gave them a substantial amount of paper money to cover their expenses.
After the store clerk spent two hours carefully counting her money, she finally revealed her true feelings: “I don’t want to buy anything right now. I’m going home now.”
Recounting the experience in a post on Xiaohongshu, she said: “After they finished counting the money, I just took the money and walked away. How dare I buy their products to improve their work performance?”
Her story quickly spread online, with many users expressing their support.
“This ending is so amazing, I’ve always wondered why these store clerks are so arrogant,” one commentator said.
Another added: “They sell luxury items, but they’re not luxury items themselves.”
