DALLAS — The Cowboys’ home opener will set a good benchmark. Week 1 If Dallas wins, it will be a fluke. Deshaun Watson It blurred the vision of what the Cowboys could do against Cleveland’s stout defense.
With the Cowboys and Saints fresh off of dominant wins, things are sure to get even more competitive in Week 2.

The Cowboys have a good chance of beating the Saints this weekend because of their strong defense that can effectively neutralize the Saints’ Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave.
Additionally, the Cowboys’ strong offense, led by a talented quarterback and versatile playmakers, has allowed them to score consistently. Both teams have good defenses, but the Saints have Dak Prescott and C.D. Lam.
Finally, playing at home gives the Cowboys a huge advantage, with their fans a crucial boost.

It’s a game the Saints have circled on their calendar: a homecoming for head coach Dennis Allen (a Hurst L.D. Bell graduate) and a family reunion for longtime Saints GM Mickey Loomis, whose son Alex is the Cowboys’ director of pro scouting.
Allen has been the Saints’ defensive play-caller for 10 years, the longest tenure of any defense in the NFC, and the defense returns 10 starters.
New Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, whose brother Klein is an area scout for the Cowboys, returns 10 starters to the offensive line. Kubiak continues Shanahan’s lineage of coaching running football and has breathed new life into five-time Pro Bowler Alvin Kamara.
The Cowboys won a tough 23-20 victory, their 17th straight regular-season home win. They will have to contain Saints wide receiver/returner Rashid Shahid, who has game-changing playmaking skills.

The Cowboys will beat the Saints on Sunday afternoon to reach their first 40-burger of the year.
Dallas will do what the Panthers couldn’t do last week and put a ton of pressure on Derek Carr, generating a ton of QB pressures, sacks and interceptions.
Dak Prescott He’ll be able to gauge the pressure from the blitz-loving Saints and be a force to be reckoned with in the first home game of 2024.

The Cowboys and Saints both just finished games that were effectively over at halftime. New Orleans scored an NFL-high 47 points against the Panthers in Week 1, but Dallas’ defense is an entirely different beast (six sacks, two interceptions in Week 1).
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb are also expected to work better together, especially with Saints cornerback Marshawn Lattimore’s health in doubt.

New Orleans deserves credit for its explosive offense in Week 1, but the reality is the Cowboys’ defense just isn’t as good as the Carolina Panthers’.
New Orleans’ success was based on Derek Carr’s ability to drop back on play-action, and I expect Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer will devise a strategy to disrupt Carr’s comfort zone.
If I were a betting woman, I’d bet on Zimmer’s defense over Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and have the Cowboys finish Week 2 with a 2-0 record.
