Lexus continues to take full advantage of Toyota Motor Corporation’s superior hybrid technology, so it’s no surprise that a smaller, more luxurious hybrid-based SUV was on the list.
Introducing the 2025 Lexus UX300h Premium AWD. The test car was wrapped in an exquisite “Coppercrest” exterior color that sparkled in the sunlight, and the beautiful curves of the exterior stood out. The UX300 Hybrid also offers great comfort and size, but it’s the miles per gallon that everyone rave about. In our week-long test, we got 44.8mpg, which is outstanding for this class and will be a big win for Lexus.
Like the NX and RX models we tested, the UX300h’s interior boasts upgrades that are more Lexus-like than Toyota’s frame layout, while ensuring added comfort.
Powering the Lexus UX300h is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder hybrid engine with a total of 196 horsepower and a CVT transmission. Equipped with 18-inch wheels, the UX300h has great standard features including dual climate control, heated outside mirrors, roof rails, a power back door, rain-sensing wipers, and a power moonroof. Optional features include a wireless phone charger, heated steering wheel, windshield de-icer, head-up display, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Lexus interface, and premium paint upgrades.
The Lexus UX competes directly with the Audi Q3 and BMW X1. We look forward to testing these models, comparing apples-to-apples, and bringing you the top of the category charts.
Lexus has done a great job with recent releases of the GX and other upgraded vehicles. When it comes to UX, I had a really hard time finding anything negative related to the compact luxury SUV. Price-wise, the UX certainly has a place among vehicles and is in great demand from consumers looking for a compact-sized SUV with a sense of luxury and good fuel economy.
