Celebrity chef Andrew Gruel says California restaurateurs are celebrating Donald Trump’s divisive victory as sales soar.
“The day after Trump won, our sales almost doubled from the week before. And we posted about it, and we talked to restaurant owners all over the place. They said, ‘Me too.’ It was like, ‘Ours too’, ‘Ours too’, ‘Catering has gone up’, ‘This has gone up’. ”

Gruel said restaurants are “the best indicator” of how people are feeling.
“I think it’s just a sigh of relief that this is over,” he said during an appearance on “The Big Money Show.”

“We know what we saw from the Trump administration, and whether people want to say it publicly or not, they know the economy will be stronger.”
As the United States prepares for a second Trump administration, Gruel warned the California Democratic Party that the public is starting to “wake up” to their “crazy” policies.

“It’s not going to go from blue to red overnight, but people are opening their eyes. They’re waking up,” Gruel concluded.
“Mr. Newsom is coming to the end of his term, so it will be interesting to see how that changes, not just in terms of Mr. Newsom’s resignation, but also in how he approaches policy leading up to his departure.”
