Pune: This is a luxury no longer a signature on a wealthy class travel itinerary for a high-profile wedding. And there’s no more limit to billionaires who tend to mix business with pleasure in remote holiday hotspots. Finally, the concept of exploiting this privilege goes beyond the infamous name of the quiet travel politicians bring to foreign lands.
For a long time, this group of people with different deep pockets has made up a large portion of the clients of Pune charter aircraft operators, using their services regularly for personal and professional reasons. Recently, there have been at least two surprising additions. They are bachelor’s degrees eager to explode overseas, and their families choose their era and simple pilgrimage.
Hasmukh Thakkar, director of Hasmukh Travel Agent Pune Private Limited, said hiring private flights for recent weddings and tourist destinations, especially Jaipur, Udaipur, Goa and Thail is a trend. “We get one or two bookings each month. These are people who own businesses in Pune and Pimpli Chinchwad, or higher tiers of multinational companies.”
Mundhwa resident Ankush Kumar and his friends recently embarked on a trip to Udaipur. “It was an eight-seater. We want privacy and would like to travel when it’s convenient for us.
A tour agent based in another city says many people are making private flights to Dubai, Uzbekistan, Australia and European countries for their bachelor’s degrees. “It’s definitely expensive. The cost depends on the seat, crew, distance and the nature of the visa,” he says.
Amid this growing trend, this Rs 78 rak trip has suddenly ended. After police registered the acquittal for acquiring, a Bangkok-bound flight with MLA and two friends with his friends was forced to return to Pune.
Girikhand director Akhilesh Joshi says he caters to businessmen who frequently visit Delhi and Sorapur. “Some of our rich clients hire civil aircraft for Dubai to attend work-related tasks and tourism.”
Baner’s Siddharth K said he booked a flight to Mauritius in 2019 for his wedding. “There was a family of three on board. It was a long journey, but the crew did their best to make it memorable.”
Travel agency owners will also be inquired about religious important places such as Tirupati and Vaishno Devi Temple. “Many people want to bring their older parents with them and are worried about their comfort,” Thakkar said.
Joshi says he’s currently receiving pre-orders for Prayagraj and Chardham Yatra.
“We provide helicopter services to Nepal. Our travel up and down is over 2 Rs. We get at least one or two bookings each month,” said Jatin Pardeshi, a city-based tour company.
More than 10 businessmen and industrialists in Pune own the helicopter.
