Valley Health System
Mark Nantz, president and CEO of Valley Health System, has been named to Virginia Business magazine’s prestigious “Virginia 500” list for the third consecutive year. The annual list recognizes Virginia’s top leaders in business, government and higher education. Nantz is one of 28 distinguished leaders from the healthcare/biotech/pharmaceutical sector selected.
Nantz, who oversees six hospitals, including two in West Virginia and four in Virginia, and more than 6,000 employees, joined Valley Health in 2020, three months into the COVID-19 pandemic.
Skyline Harley Davidson
Skyline Harley-Davidson will host a “Salute to Service” event honoring all active duty and veteran military and first responder personnel at 140 Independence Drive in Winchester on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A free lunch will be served at noon. There will be prize giveaways and a chance to win a 2024 Road Glide Limited, 100,000 HD membership bonus points (valued at $1,000) and a one-year membership to Club EagleRider. Harley-Davidson will donate $1 to the Wounded Warrior Project for each unique entry.
Touch a Truck
The Top of Virginia Building Association will hold its annual “Touch a Truck” event at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Berryville on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be a variety of construction equipment, public safety vehicles and other vehicles on display, as well as demonstrations and hands-on adventures. Tickets are $5. Food trucks will also be on-site.
Pickle Stock
PickleStock, hosted by DH Farmstead and Petty Betty Treats, will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Warren County Fairgrounds in Front Royal.
There will be music throughout the day, pickle-related stuff, a kids’ zone, contests, games, prizes, a beer garden and more. Admission is free.
Drum Fever
Professional drummer Daniel Kelly II will host a biweekly drumming course every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Drum Orpheum Rehearsal Hall, 11 W. Oates Ave. in Winchester. Cost is $25. More info: www.drumorpheum.com/events.
