Purina helps areas affected by Hurricanes Helen and Milton with donations of pet food, cat litter, and more
When natural disasters occur, Purina’s goal is to provide timely support to pets and people in need. In the wake of Hurricane Helen earlier this month, Purina announced a $25,000 donation to Greater Good Charities to support relief efforts. The donations helped fund emergency relief, including food, medical supplies, and hygiene kits for people evacuated by the storm, as well as funds for safely transporting shelter pets.
The need is even greater in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton. Purina is responding to the storm’s impact by shipping more than 1,700 tons (equivalent to 130 truckloads) of Purina pet food and cat litter to provide to thousands of shelter animals and pets displaced by recent hurricanes. We continue to support the local communities that have received the support. Purina’s Wet & Dry facility in Hereford contributed to this significant donation, delivering 718,000 pounds of pet care products, including dog and cat food. Purina established its business in Hereford in 1988 and currently employs a team of over 320 people.
