Martin Brundle believes we can witness one of the best seasons ever in F1 in 2025 after Max Verstappen turned his “breathing space” into a fourth world championship.
Verstappen added more title glory to his stellar F1 CV in 2024, winning his fourth consecutive World Championship, but without the luxury of dominance he had enjoyed over the previous few seasons. .
Max Verstappen to hunt for title in 2025 ‘All Time Classic’ F1?
Verstappen won five of the opening seven Grands Prix of 2024, but as McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes began to show race-winning pace, Verstappen and Red Bull’s dominant ways came to an end, leading to the start of the season. He ended up winning only 2 out of 14 games. Until its end.
Nevertheless, Verstappen won his fourth title with a solid run, and his symbolic drive to win in Brazil effectively sealed the deal, with the next round in Las Vegas Verstappen winning his fourth title. Officially recognized as world champion.
But with Verstappen’s “breathing space” removed from the equation, Brundle believes there could be an even more thrilling season in F1 in 2025.
“2025 could be the best classic F1 season of all time,” Brundle predicted in an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit with Sky F1 pundits.
“The car is concentrating, there are some good drivers on the grid, the team has speed and incredible reliability, so it’s going to be a very close race.
“Max obviously started 2024 with a lot of wins and that gave him a little bit of leeway.
“But we have seven wins so far this season. The front is very close and the race is good. And that’s what we want. It’s unpredictable and in 2025 even more. The same thing will happen.”

Verstappen, who has won four consecutive titles with Red Bull, matching Sebastian Vettel’s feat, will aim to win a fifth consecutive F1 title in 2025.
But despite establishing himself as F1’s top dog over the past four seasons, Verstappen does not consider himself and Red Bull to be contenders for the 2025 F1 title.
While Verstappen won the 2024 drivers’ championship, Red Bull slipped away from the top of the constructors’ championship to third place and Ferrari finished runners-up as McLaren returned to P1 for the first time since 1998.
“We won’t be the favorites, but that’s okay,” Verstappen told Servas TV.
“A lot of things still have to change to be number one again. But that’s okay and sometimes it’s a good thing not to be a favorite at the beginning of the season.”
Verstappen will be joined by a new teammate at Red Bull ahead of F1 in 2025, with Liam Lawson stepping up from Racing Bulls to replace Sergio Perez.
